On average, new patients must wait 19 days–nearly three weeks–for their first appointment. And 20 percent of patients wait more than 4 weeks.
Ob-gyns have longer lead times than other specialties

Most new patients are able to schedule appointments within 30 days
But just over a quarter of Ob-gyn patients are able to schedule an appointment for the same week -- significantly fewer than other in-demand specialties.
Scheduling with a female doctor takes longer on average
On average and across provider types, female physicians have longer scheduling lead times, with female PCPs and Ob-gyns have the longest.
